《论语》为政篇第二2.9 视其所以，观其所由
【原文】2.9 子曰：“视其所以，观其所由，察其所安。人焉廋哉？人焉廋哉？”
译文】孔子说：“看一个人的所作所为，考察他处事的动机，了解他心安于什么事情。那么，这个的内心怎能掩盖得了呢？”
题解】孔子说过“不患人之不己知，患不知人也”，那么如何知人呢，这段话是孔子讲述的观察别人的方法。看一个人平时做的事，看一个人做事的出发点，然后就是看他处理完事情之后，表现出什么样的神情 。如果是行善事而安之，则善日积；如是行恶事而安之，则恶日增。用这样的知人方法来观察一个人，自然便可见出他是君子还是小人了。
